Hoiho
Hoiho also known as the yellow-eyed penguin is one of the rarest penguins in the world and are only found in New Zealand. It’s Maori name, hoiho (meaning noise shouter) was given because of its shrill call. With these penguins not being as soical as other penguins they are known to be quite shy and nest well away from others. These beautiful creatures are unfortunately endangered with an estimated only 3,400 left in the wild.
